A Travel Content Creator's Kit Must-Haves for 2023

If you’re looking to level up your content creation career, these are a few of my favourite pieces I’d like to share with you. If you’re a travel content creator – or looking to get into this content creation niche – these are five of the top kit must-haves you’ll need (and want) for 2023. FYI: this is assuming you already have a smartphone (hello, iPhone 15 Pro) and you’re looking to upgrade/add to the rest of your content creation kit. Macbook Air M2 2022
First up is the one and only Macbook Air M2 2022 – yep, it’s as dreamy as it sounds. As an avid Apple user, I recently upgraded to this exact model (space grey and all) and have not looked back. Aside from the obvious – aesthetic, memory, speed and display – this laptop is a game changer for travel creators. It’s super lightweight (1.4kg), comes with the new M2 chip and has up to 18 hours of battery life – ideal for those on the long road. Dreamy indeed.

2. Sony ZV-1
The infamous Sony ZV-1: otherwise known as the go-to vlogging camera. While there have been newer generations released since the Sony ZV-1 in 2020, sometimes a ye olde faithful is exactly what you need. Widely renowned for its high-quality video footage, paper-light body and 24fps shooting speed, this mirrorless camera is one for the travel content creators looking for a lightweight camera that can go anywhere they go. And this is coming from a die-hard Canon DSLR photographer – I can’t recommend it enough.

3. Atumtek Selfie Stick
Not only because its viral on TikTok (although it really is that great), the Atumtek Selfie Stick is easily one of the best phone tripods around right now. While the tripod world is fast evolving into tracking our every move – excuse the pun – this 2-in-1 tripod/selfie stick’s USP is how light, portable and user-friendly it is. You’d think any tripod would have these qualities, but unfortunately, this is not the case. Most are either too clunky to carry around or poorly made, resulting in a reinvestment far sooner than planned. 4. iWalk Mini Portable Charger
One thing that often gets overlooked in the content creation world is battery life. Now, while you may or may not have recently purchased a new Macbook, most modern-day electronics do not come with the same extensive battery life. And that’s especially true for our pesky little phones. Enter the iWalk Mini Portable Charger: a must-have accessory for any travel content creator. Although it pretty much does what it says on the tin, this mini portable charger offers one full charge of most current iPhones on the go and the best part? It’s lipstick-size. Mwah.
